Charter of the DBA alumni network

Article 1: Name & Purpose

1.1 Name:
The organization shall be known as the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Alumni Network (“The Network”).

1.2 Purpose:
The Network serves as a platform for DBA alumni to engage in:

  • Professional networking
  • Business collaboration
  • Research initiatives
  • Knowledge-sharing and mentorship
  • Social and professional development

Article 2: Membership

2.1 Membership Categories

The Network shall have two categories of membership:
  • Full Members: Individuals who have successfully completed a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree from an approved reputable institution or PhD of a similar nature
  • Associate Members: Individuals who enrolled in an approved DBA program more than 2 years previously (and are still enrolled) from an approved reputable institution but have not yet been awarded the degree.

2.2 Rights & Privileges

Members shall have voting rights, access to exclusive research projects, and the ability to initiate business collaborations under the Network’s name.

2.3 Membership Requirements

  • A valid DBA degree or proof of current enrollment 2 years prior to application.
  • Agreement to uphold the Network’s values and professional code of conduct.
  • Payment (if applicable) of annual membership dues, as determined by the Executive Committee.

3.1 Executive Committee

The Network shall be governed by an Executive Committee, consisting of:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary-General (social could be included)
  • Treasurer
  • Research & Innovation Lead
  • Membership & Engagement Director

3.2 Roles & Responsibilities

  • The President provides strategic direction and represents the Network.
  • The Vice President assists the President and oversees membership engagement.
  • The Secretary-General manages communication, meetings, and records.
  • The Treasurer oversees finances and dues collection.
  • The Research & Innovation Lead facilitates academic collaborations.
  • The Membership & Engagement Director drives recruitment and social initiatives.

4.1 Business & Networking Events

Global and regional meetups, business roundtables, and industry conferences, webinars.

4.2 Research Collaborations

Joint business research, white papers, and academic partnerships.

4.3 Entrepreneurial Support

Business incubators, funding opportunities, and mentorship for startups.

4.4 Social Engagement

Community service, leadership programs, and professional well-being initiatives.

4.5 Online Platform

A digital hub for members to share insights, find research partners, and explore business opportunities.

All members must:

  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.
  • Respect confidentiality and intellectual property of fellow members.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive network.

Engage in constructive collaboration and knowledge-sharing

The Charter may be amended through a vote by the Executive Committee, with input from Full Members.
